What Echoes of Sekigahara adds
Echoes of Sekigahara is a new narrative expansion split between the present and flashbacks to Atsu’s time on the mainland. Nagato, a figure from Atsu’s past, arrives in Ezo, while the present-day story explores a previously unseen valley once occupied by The Snake and the Vipers.
The expansion adds new enemies, heavy weapons, armour sets and dyes. Its flashbacks revisit the Battle of Sekigahara and a turning point before Atsu returned home for her quest.
How Most Wanted works
Most Wanted is a single-player combat survival mode with a roguelike run structure. Players accept bounties, defeat enemies to earn perks and unlock additional playable characters.
The announcement confirms distinct weapon styles for Atsu with dual katana, Oyuki with kusarigama and Nagato with a yari. It does not state the final number of bounties, every playable character or a guaranteed completion time.
Complete Edition vs RM60.11 upgrade
The RM299 Complete Edition is the all-in option for a new player. It includes the main Ghost of Yōtei game, Ghost of Yōtei Legends, Echoes of Sekigahara, Most Wanted, the former Digital Deluxe in-game content and the Charm of Hokkyokusei. The base game and Legends can be played immediately after purchase; the new expansion and survival mode arrive with the October 2 patch in Malaysia.
The RM60.11 Complete Edition Upgrade is for someone who already owns Ghost of Yōtei. It adds Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted, and immediately unlocks the Digital Deluxe content and Charm of Hokkyokusei when those are not already owned.
Free October 2 patch features
Existing owners do not need to buy the upgrade for every October addition. The free patch adds Beauty of Yōtei mode, a screensaver-style environmental view, plus armour appearance and stat separation and a high-contrast accessibility option.
The Southeast Asia page lists new Watanabe Mode tracks under Complete Edition content, but the updated global PlayStation Blog article corrects that point: the tracks are included in the free October patch even without the paid upgrade. That later correction controls this guide.
What the September 30 early unlock means
Buying either eligible option by September 30 adds an early unlock of the Sakai Armour on October 2. The official wording is “early unlock,” not an exclusive armour claim, so the decision should rest on whether early access matters—not fear that the armour can never be obtained later.
