Marvel Rivals August 7 Balance Changes: All 18 Heroes Explained

Marvel Rivals Version 20260807 changes 18 heroes across Vanguard, Duelist and Strategist roles. The 4 August official balance post previews stronger options for characters including Devil Dinosaur, Doctor Strange, Moon Knight, Phoenix, Wolverine, Jubilee, Loki and White Fox, while reducing control or durability for Peni Parker, Venom and several Team-Up effects.

The most structural change belongs to Peni Parker: Cyber-Web Snare no longer immobilises on the first hit. It now applies a short slow and a Web-Tracer mark, with immobilisation requiring a second snare during the mark window.

Marvel Rivals August 7 balance changes at a glance

  • 18 heroes affected: Six Vanguards, eight Duelists and four Strategists.
  • Peni Parker: Less immediate control and a lower Cyber-Web bonus-health cap.
  • Venom: Less bonus health and a longer swing cooldown.
  • Wolverine: Builds Rage faster and keeps it longer.
  • Moon Knight: Better bounce damage, mobility and Team-Up sustain.
  • White Fox: Cheaper Ultimate with an automatic nearby ally buff.

Vanguard changes

HeroConfirmed change
Devil DinosaurFrenzied Feast maximum-health damage rises from 5% to 8% on the first four attacks and from 10% to 12% on the fifth. Surf & Turf can last 5 seconds instead of 4 and heals allies for 60 instead of 40.
Doctor StrangeDaggers of Denak damage rises from 16 to 18 and charges from 10 to 12. The Hulk Team-Up reduces Gamma Maelstrom cooldown from 8 to 6 seconds.

Peni ParkerThe first Cyber-Web Snare applies a 30% slow for 1 second and a 5-second Web-Tracer. A second hit immobilises for 0.7 seconds. The snare gains two charges, while the Cyber-Web bonus-health cap falls from 200 to 150.
RogueDefensive Stance damage reduction rises from 55% to 60%, and Regenerative Shield capacity rises from 250 to 275.
VenomSymbiotic Resilience bonus health falls from 120% to 110% of lost health, while Venom Swing cooldown increases from 8 to 10 seconds.

Peni’s change shifts reliable immobilisation from one hit to a two-step setup. Venom also has less room to escape after spending his defensive resources, while Rogue and Doctor Strange become more forgiving in sustained fights.

Black PantherThe Storm Team-Up area damage falls from 40 to 30 and cooldown rises from 12 to 15 seconds.
CyclopsEach Optic Blast hit reduces Ricochet Force cooldown by 0.25 seconds instead of 0.15. The Gambit Team-Up raises Concussive Beam attack frequency from 10% to 15%.

Moon Knight and Wolverine receive the broadest direct buffs in this role. Several Team-Up reductions, however, target burst or control rather than the hero’s complete base kit.

Strategist changes

HeroConfirmed change
GambitThe Magneto Team-Up field launches enemies every 1 second instead of every 0.5 seconds.
JubileeEnergy Plasmoids damage rises from 10 to 11 and healing from 14 to 15 per hit.
LokiMystical Missile projectile speed rises from 100 to 120 metres per second.

Jubilee and Loki receive straightforward consistency improvements. White Fox gains both more frequent Ultimate access and an immediate team benefit around the cast point.

What the patch means for team composition

The official numbers support three cautious conclusions. First, Peni and Venom players need more deliberate defensive timing. Second, Moon Knight and Wolverine should retain offensive pressure more reliably. Third, Team-Up selection still matters because many of the changes apply only when specific partners are present.

The balance post does not provide win-rate targets, rank-specific data or a complete meta forecast. Actual team priorities may differ across skill levels and later hotfixes, so these changes should be treated as the confirmed mechanical baseline rather than a guaranteed tier list.
